Chris Pickett

(Chair of Governors)

Chris has been a Governor at Ditcham since October 2008. For the last 32 years, Chris has been Managing Director of a five-generation family jewellery business in Petersfield. Through his profession, his participation in three Olympic cycles within England’s and Team GB’s hockey programme, and his current position as president of Havant Hockey Club, he has acquired key skills in performance management, motivation and team leadership. A strong understanding in marketing and building a brand image has enabled Chris to contribute to the School as Chairman of the Marketing Sub Committee and has been a member of the Buildings Sub Committee. Chris is married with four children, his youngest daughter is currently in the Juniors whilst his youngest son left Ditcham after a well-rounded education.

Sally Barber

(Vice Chair of Governors and Member of Finance Sub Committee)

Sally became a Governor at the end of 2015 and is proud to be the first former pupil to have been elected to the Council. Sally was a pupil in both in the Juniors and Seniors and was a recipient of the Sir Richard Cave Award for service to the school. After attaining her A-levels she started her career with HSBC, formerly Midland Bank, and enjoyed a varied 17 year career with them before moving on to a new role with SSE as a project co-ordinator. Since leaving Ditcham, Sally’s interest in voluntary work in the community has continued and she has been involved in three voyages with the Jubilee Sailing Trust, a charity which enables all ages, of any ability to sail side by side on board a tall ship. She is also an active supporter of the National Anklosing Spondylitis Society, an organisation which provides guidance and assistance to those suffering with Anklosing Spondylitis, a condition with which her husband has been diagnosed. Sally’s many hobbies range from listening to music, watching football at Fratton Park and a love of home baking.

Dr Lorraine Albon

(Designated Governor for Child Protection)

Lorraine is a consultant physician working solely within the NHS. Having initially read Human Sciences, she went on to study medicine as a mature student and qualified from the University of London in 1992. She trained as a specialist in Diabetes, Endocrinology and general medicine. She has been a Consultant since 2004, for 14 years at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, and now at St Richards Hospital Chichester. One of her main fields of interest is adolescent and young adult medicine, and she currently chairs the Royal College of Physicians Adolescent and Young adult Steering group, a committed to improving the experience of health care to young people. Lorraine has lived in Rogate, Nr Petersfield for 15 years and has been involved with Ditcham Park school since 2005, with three children having being taught here. Her twins, George and Sophie Roland attended Ditcham Park School and left in 2017. Both are currently at university studying zoology and history respectively.

Nalini Dentten

(Member of the Finance Sub-Committee)

Nalini graduated in Mathematics and joined IBM shortly afterwards. She worked within IBM for 30 years, holding several managerial and professional positions in Finance and Operations. She currently works as the European Finance Lead for a privately owned Fin-Tech company in London. Nalini qualified as a Chartered Accountant more than 20 years ago. She is married, and her son was a pupil at Ditcham Park School from 2012 to 2017; during this time Nalini was an active member of the Friends of Ditcham Park School and for the final 2 years was the FDPS Secretary. Outside of work Nalini enjoys travelling, playing bridge, paper crafting and cooking.

Peggy Field

(Member of the Education Sub Committee)

Peggy became a Governor in August 2015. After graduating in Geography she worked for The British Council before completing a masters degree at the University of Edinburgh. She then pursued a career within the charity sector working for the Worldwide Fund for Nature on conservation and development projects and developing policy on gender and demographic issues. More recently Peggy worked for the University of Chichester developing strategies on sustainability and environmental management. Peggy has an active interest in sustainability and particularly on the engagement of young people in environmental issues. Peggy has two children and the youngest currently attends Ditcham Senior School.

Gethin Hughes

(Member of Building Sub Committee)

Gethin became a Governor at Ditcham in May 2015. Since graduating from Aberystwyth University in 1997, Gethin has worked for the NHS. He is currently Director for Integrated Services at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, the community and mental health provider in Hampshire. Gethin joins the Council of Governors with a strong interest in workforce and organisational development. Gethin is married and has a daughter in Seniors at Ditcham.

Rebecca Parrett

(Member of Education Sub Committee)

Rebecca has worked in a number of Hampshire schools over the past 10 years and is currently Head of School for the secondary phase of an all through 4-16 school in North Hampshire. As a teacher of English and Geography, Rebecca has experience of school leadership as both head of department and in senior leadership. She is married with two children.

Roger Overend

(Chair of the Education Sub-Committee and Designated Governor for the Creative Arts)

Roger became a Governor in 2019. His entire 42-year teaching career was in the independent school sector, including a combined total of 21 years as Headmaster of two Preparatory Schools and one 3-18 school. He was Chairman of the Choir Schools’ Association from 2011-2014, a member of the Independent Association of Prep Schools Council from 2016-2018, served on the Liturgy and Music Committee at Rochester Cathedral and was a Governor at St Michael’s School, Otford. He is committed to getting the best out of children in their education at whatever level, is a champion for the arts and fully supports the need to equip children with the necessary technology skills needed for their future life. He currently acts as a mentor to Heads new to IAPS. He moved to South Harting in the summer of 2018, is married and has five children and five grandchildren.

Graham Seddon

(Chair of Finance Sub Committee)

Graham Seddon joined the Council of Governors in November 2019. Graham is a Chartered Accountant, a qualification achieved aged 23, whilst working for Menzies. Graham was made Menzies’ youngest ever partner in the firm at age 29, with roles including Head of Business Advisory, Office Principle (Leatherhead) and Head of Digital Strategy. Graham left his position as a Board member to start up his own business, Altitude, earlier in 2019.  Graham is experienced working with charities and is currently a Trustee and Chair for Finance & Risk at Disability Challengers – a charity that covers Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex. He is also Treasurer for Godalming Theatre Group, where his wife Jenny is an active performer and director for the group. Graham has 2 children, Samuel aged 11 and Olivia aged 9, who are educated at Royal Grammar School in Guildford and Saint Hillary’s Prep School in Godalming respectively. Graham is a sports fanatic with particular interests in football and skiing.
