The Governors of Ditcham Park School are committed to broadening access to the school for prospective pupils, by providing means-tested financial assistance to eligible parents/guardians of pupils who are considering entry at Year 7 (11+) or Year 9 (13+). In addition, bursary support may be considered for current families who experience sudden or temporary financial difficulty. This form of financial assistance is known as a Bursary.
Bursaries may be awarded in the form of a discount of up to 90 percent of annual tuition fees payable, depending on the financial, compassionate, or other pertinent circumstances of applicants at the time of application. All bursary applicants are required to submit a detailed Statement of Financial Circumstances and be able to demonstrate a genuine need for support.
Requests for financial support usually fall into two categories:
- State School / Prep School Bursaries: available to new applicants for Year 7 (Form 1 Seniors) or Year 9 (Form 3 Seniors) of the school where a place has been offered by the School but parents/guardians are unable to fund the tuition fees in full or in part; these bursary awards are subject to an annual financial update/review.
- Hardship Bursaries: available to existing pupils where a change in parents’/guardians’ circumstances has resulted in difficulty in meeting tuition fees and may result in the child being withdrawn part way through a stage of education; these awards are usually available for a maximum of 2 terms.
The number of Bursary awards made is not fixed and is at the discretion of the School Governors however parents/guardians who wish to apply for bursary assistance should contact the Head of Admissions at their earliest opportunity to register their interest.
