Senior School PE
At Ditcham Park School, Physical Education plays a central role in developing pupils’ skills, confidence, and enjoyment of sport. In the Senior School, pupils take part in a wide range of activities, including football, basketball, rugby, hockey, netball, volleyball, dance, gymnastics, health-related fitness, and outdoor adventurous activities. During the summer months, the curriculum also offers cricket, rounders, tennis, and athletics.
All sports are taught in line with the national curriculum, with lessons focusing on both technique and tactical understanding through a variety of game-based activities.
We are proud to ensure that every pupil, whether in the Junior or Senior School, is given the opportunity to enjoy and succeed in Physical Education, whatever their interests or abilities. Many of our pupils have gone on to excel in their chosen sports, building on the strong foundation provided at Ditcham Park.
Junior School PE
In the Junior School, our Physical Education programme is designed to give pupils a positive introduction to sport and activity. At Key Stage 1, the emphasis is placed on fun, enjoyment, and the development of fundamental movement skills. Pupils take part in a variety of engaging activities that encourage confidence, teamwork, and a love of being active.
As pupils progress into Key Stage 2, the focus shifts towards developing individual skills within a team framework. Lessons build on the basics, helping pupils refine techniques, understand tactics, and gain experience across a wide range of sports and activities.
GCSE PE
At Ditcham Park School, pupils have the opportunity to study GCSE Physical Education following the Edexcel specification. This course is ideal for those with a keen interest in sport and exercise, combining practical performance with academic study.

Fixtures
Sport at Ditcham Park extends well beyond the classroom, with pupils regularly representing the school in competitive fixtures against local schools and clubs. These fixtures provide valuable opportunities for pupils to put their skills into practice, experience the excitement of competition, and develop qualities such as teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship.
We run a full calendar of fixtures across a wide range of sports, including football, rugby, hockey, netball, basketball, cricket, tennis, and athletics. Pupils of all abilities are encouraged to take part, ensuring that everyone has the chance to enjoy the pride of representing their school.
