Ditcham Park School provides daily lunchtime meals which are freshly cooked in our kitchens by our wonderful catering team using fresh ingredients and local produce when possible. There is always a range of both hot and cold meals available alongside a daily homemade soup and freshly prepared fruit salad pots. Our pupils are offered the opportunity to be involved in the formulation of the menus through our School Council.
We understand that food allergies can present a serious concern for some of our pupils, parents and staff but we do not want this to preclude anyone from enjoying the school’s catering provision. Information on the allergen content of our foods is always on display and any member of our catering team will be happy to assist with any queries. We regularly cater for a number of dietary requirements, not limited to but including Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegetarian, Vegan and other intolerances so please don’t be afraid to ask as we will always endeavour to ensure each pupil receives a suitable meal that they can enjoy.
Parents are emailed weekly in advance to order their child’s lunch options and this assists the catering team in ensuring there is sufficient food choices available whilst also reducing food wastage and unnecessary costs. Our termly menus are published in advance of the start of term and we would highly recommend that parents review these with their child prior to placing their weekly order choices.
Please also keep an eye out for our catering team’s special Theme Days when those children who usually bring a packed lunch are invited to join us for a small fee and sample the exciting dishes on offer.
