Ditcham Park School: Leading the Way in Environmental Action

At Ditcham Park School, we believe that every small action can lead to big changes when it comes to protecting our planet. As an Eco School with Distinction, we’re proud to be at the forefront of sustainability, empowering our students to take the lead in creating a greener, fairer future.

Our Journey So Far

Our commitment to environmental action began in earnest in 2019, when we hosted the Hopeful Earth Youth Environment Conference. Students from 10 schools across Hampshire and West Sussex joined us to pledge action on climate change. The event featured inspiring talks from environmental leaders, including Dr. Tony Whitbread (CEO of the Wildlife Trust), Philip Lymbery (Compassion in World Farming), and Extinction Rebellion activist Jack Harries.

The conference wasn’t just an event—it was the beginning of a movement. Together, we pledged to:

Since then, we’ve been working hard to live up to that pledge—and we’ve achieved so much.

Our Achievements

As a proud participant in the Eco-Schools Programme, we’ve earned Distinction status twice for our ongoing commitment to sustainability. Some of our standout projects include:

Looking Ahead: Environment Week 2025

The excitement doesn’t stop there! We’re currently planning an Environment Week for 2024, which will involve the entire school community. This special event will be packed with activities, workshops, and projects that will inspire students, staff, and families to take meaningful action for the planet.

Environment Week will be a celebration of all we’ve achieved—and a launchpad for even greater impact.

Join Us in Making a Difference

At Ditcham Park School, we don’t just teach our students about sustainability; we empower them to lead the charge. Our pupils are at the heart of every green initiative, from brainstorming ideas in our Eco Council to taking action that inspires others.

We’re incredibly proud of the passion, creativity, and dedication our students bring to environmental matters. They’re not just the leaders of tomorrow—they’re the changemakers of today.

Our Commitment to the Future

Together, we pledge to act, educate, and make a difference—every single day. Join us as we continue to build a greener, brighter future for all.

Let’s make a change together.
