Academic Standards and Admissions to the School
Ditcham Park School is a small school with small class sizes, and entry into the school is therefore dependent on available places at any point in time. Please do therefore contact the Admissions Secretary for details of current availability when considering Ditcham Park School for your son or daughter.
Children can the school from Reception upwards, but early entry is encouraged to guarantee the availability of a place as children progress up through Juniors. Entry to Juniors from Years 3 to 6 is dependent on the successful completion of an academic assessment and report from the child’s present school.
Entry to Seniors from Year 7 onwards is dependent on passing an entrance test in order to determine whether the pupil will be able to cope with the curriculum, and on a report from the child’s present school. The Entrance Test includes English, Mathematics, VR, and NVR papers and also an interview. For full details about our admissions procedure please click here.
The ability range of pupils entering Ditcham Park is quite wide and where required, some of our pupils benefit from additional support with their studies from specialist learning support teachers.
It is, however, a fact that we more readily accept young children who need learning support than older ones.
The School’s pass rate for 5+ A*-C grades at GCSE has consistently been 100% in the last five years and virtually all pupils take 9 or more GCSE subjects and successfully progress through ‘A’ levels or the International Baccalaureate, and then on to university.
Detailed information about academic and music scholarships can be found in the “Scholarships” section of this website. Alternatively, please contact the Admissions Secretary, Mrs Amanda Lowe (email@example.com), who will be able to assist.
In addition to merit-based scholarships, the School is committed to awarding, on an annual basis, at least one free 11+, means tested Bursary place to a state school pupil who successfully passes the entrance test. To read more about Ditcham Park School’s Bursaries Policy and how to apply, please click here. Alternatively, please contact the Deputy Bursar, Mrs Denise Allen (firstname.lastname@example.org) for detailed information.
