The Creative Closure Challenge – The Ditcham Chronicle

During this unprecedented time, while our school is closed, let’s capture and keep celebrating the creativity that usually flows.  Share your story of isolation; be bold, be loud, be imaginative!

Let’s create an original, dynamic and entertaining chronicle together of this unusual period as a collective family. We can all look forward to its publication, performances and an exhibition to celebrate when we meet again.

It could be a film you’ve made in your kitchen, a photo of your favourite place, a picture you’ve painted, or a poem that reminds you of someone you love. We want you to share anything that feels important to you during these unusual times. There’s a page waiting to be filled by each pupil and their family. Please click here to listen to a poem that Serena Thompson has written and videoed which begins our collection for the project. The Heads of the Creative Arts departments will collect together and ‘curate’ your contributions into a printed book. There will also be the opportunity to exhibit original art works, photographs and short films as well as perform poetry, monologues, duologues and small-group scripts songs/music during a very special Ditcham Arts Evening which will be entitled; Arts Evening; The Homecoming.

Below are ideas you could use to create your contribution(s) and remember you can collaborate with your family and friends. Parents/Carers are welcome to create their own, individual works. Get Creating!

Pupils can join a Google Classroom to submit their pieces / films / images using the code: juh4w74 which is now open.
