Physical Education at Ditcham is taught in an enthusiastic and innovative way so that each pupil, regardless of his or her ability, has a solid basis in sport. The breadth of activities covered ensures that every student will find something they enjoy. The school enjoys sizeable playing fields the views from which are the envy of visiting schools!
The P.E department involves many activities during curriculum time as well as a host of extra curricular activities. |

Junior School
In the Junior School the basics are taught at key stage 1 with emphasis placed on fun activities and encouragement of team cohesion. During Key Stage 2 the focus becomes more on individual skills within a team framework.
Senior School
In the Senior School sports taught include football, basketball, rugby, hockey, netball, volleyball, dance, gymnastics, health related fitness, Outdoor Adventurous Activities as well as cricket, rounders, tennis and athletics during the summer months. These areas are taught in line with the national curriculum and lessons are based around techniques and tactics with game activities. |

Extra Curricular Activities
Ditcham has a full quota of football, netball, hockey, tennis, cricket, rounders and athletics matches throughout the year. The school is also beginning to introduce rugby and basketball fixtures into the school calendar. Matches begin at the under 9 age group (lower juniors- year 4) and continues right through the senior school. Despite a limited number of pupils to choose from the school is always competitive in terms of results.
We feel that Physical Education within the school gives every child a sporting start in life whatever their niche or ability.
