Welcome to Ditcham Park School, where every child is known and valued.
Sunday 5th February 1930, School will be open tomorrow as normal. If there are any changes to this, a new message will appear here early on Monday morning. During today, Estate staff at Ditcham have been clearing snow in the school grounds and also on both the school drives. These surfaces have also had grit and salt spread onto them and are now in a good condition, ready for tomorrow. The puddle at the bottom of the south drive has been worked on this afternoon but it is still quite large, although certainly safely passable with care. If you have a car with low clearance you may prefer to try the north drive.
Sub zero temperatures are expected overnight so even though grit and salt has been spread, please drive with care on drives and in the school grounds tomorrow.
Happiness, friendship, care, kindness and success, blend together effortlessly, creating the unique ethos and family atmosphere of our school. As a relatively small school of 360 pupils, aged 4-16 years, seamlessly divided between the junior and senior sections, we are able to nurture and develop all our pupils in a safe, yet stimulating environment; the close care and support for each individual pupil is genuinely personalised. Outstanding pastoral care and an exciting and challenging curriculum, combine smoothly and effectively with a wide-ranging and inclusive programme of co-curricular activities, to leave pupils evidently enthused in their learning journey and very happy with their many achievements. Pupils, parents and staff are delighted with the academic results throughout our school and strive together to ensure that all pupils fulfil their potential.
With an average of over 10 GCSEs per pupil, our recent 2011 GCSE examination results were, once again, most impressive: 100% of our pupils passed 7 or more GCSEs, including English and Mathematics, at grade A*-C; 44% of total grades awarded were A or A* whilst 79% of total grades awarded were grade A*- B. Simultaneous with academic success, through Music, Sport, Drama, Art, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme and a wide range of other rewarding challenges, we endeavour to be ‘a significant springboard’ for the futures of all our pupils, wherever that may be. Ditcham Park School is rightly very proud of its impressive reputation as a school where knowing, valuing and caring for all pupils, remains the main aim and priority. Situated high in The South Downs National Park, pupils and staff alike are energised and inspired by the location of their school, its charm and spectacular view. I am immensely proud and honoured to be Head Teacher and I most warmly invite you to come and visit us for a personal tour so that you too, can experience for yourself the special, unrivalled atmosphere that is, ‘Ditcham Park School’.
Mr Andrew Rowley (Head Teacher)
