Design Technology @ Ditcham Park
This has been a busy and successful year for the department. The GCSE results were impressive, all of the candidates achieving a ‘B’ grade or higher. Their coursework projects were an interesting and varied range of high quality products, all of the candidates working with dedication and skill on their selected topics.

Form 1 pupils proved to be a very enthusiastic and willing group, and demonstrated their creativity and new-found skills in the making of their “Mini-Metal-Monsters”.

Form 2 took up the challenge to create some “Funky Frames”, and produced an exciting range of products with unusual textured surfaces.
 |
Plans for the 2008-9 academic year include a return visit from Doctor Diane Ashton from the Institute of Metals, Minerals and Mining (IOM3), to give a presentation on Modern and Smart Materials, and also to run a workshop entitled “Egg in a Crash Helmet” for all of the Third Year. This has proved to be a very successful and enjoyable event in previous years.
A large number of senior pupils will travel to Birmingham in December to the BBC Clothes Show Live, and in the Spring Term the First Year will take part in a “Structures” workshop.
