From Kathryn Morton Head Teacher

"Please take time to look at the new flyer, (under 'Our School' and 'DPS News') available on the website.  We feel that this presents a colourful, up-to-date image of the school and in addition features a beautiful aerial view of the school and grounds which shows its unique location on the South Downs.”

Have you searched for your old school friends on the Friends Reunited website? http://www.friendsreunited.co.uk

In future email will be used as the main way of contacting you so if you are not in the database you could be missing out on news and details of forthcoming events.

The School is very keen to stay in touch with all past pupils and to utilise your expertise to help today's pupils.  Many of you have agreed to be 'on call' to return to school to give talks, present prizes and be part of the new mentoring scheme.

If you are interested then please email Anne at pastpupil@ditchampark.com

Reunion 2007

Some Past Pupils have written to the school with these lovely quotes:

“Ditcham was a fantastic school, not least because of the amazing building, location and view. It had an atmosphere that is still distinct to me now, years later. I still keep in touch with Victoria Connor (a friend from my year group at Ditcham) and I have lots of good memories of the place.  On a recent visit to England I drove up to Ditcham and had a photo taken outside. It was blowing a gale, which reminded me of the rather wild recess and lunch breaks we had. Putting on wellies, a tracksuit and a duffel coat over your school uniform just to go outside to play is something unheard of over here in WA!”

Suzanne Barton (1996)

“It will always remain a very special place to me and I certainly would never have been where I am today without it.”
Nicholas Richards (2001)

“I'll always treasure the great memories I have of the school.” Julie Stimpson (1977)

“I was a pupil at Ditcham from 1980 - 1983 and loved every minute.”

Tracy Pearson (nee Davis)

“I look back on my time at Ditcham Park with great fondness as I feel that I would not have achieved what I have today without the start in life that I gained. Although I must have kept enough of the teachers on their toes!”

David Cornick

“Fondest memories of Ditcham: persistently running up and down the stairs
when being told not to. Creepy Spiders on the grass in summertime,
walking up the south drive through the snow one winter, the long views,
the old cedar trees, the smell of dust and oak, sitting in the library
watching the rain outside, learning the flute, running cross country
down the north drive and back up through the woods, Jane Eyre, 1984, A
Christmas Carol, Macbeth, The Beauty of Buttermere, learning to write
poetry, speaking competitions, Wimbledon, the death of one of us,
singing "O Jesus I have promised, to serve thee to the end" and
"Jerusalem", playing rugby in arctic winds and winning, Madness & Fun
Boy Three, Toyah Wilcox, The Jam and the Eurythmics, Paul Klee, Picasso,
Rembrandt, Norman's coaches, playing "The Sweeney" in the orchestra,
wearing braid on my blazer, and of course all my old friends, especially
Juli Collins, Martin Twitchen, Stephanie Hunter, Tim Jordan, Simon
Budden, Giles Weston & Adam Cottis.” Stephen Austrin Miner (1979/84)
