417 GCSE subjects taken (¹ 93% including English Language, Maths and at least one Science subject.)

Due to the nature of the cohort, we cannot directly compare these results with last years `best ever’ GCSE’s when the school was top of the Hampshire GCSE league table published by `The Times`. However, the results were still very pleasing with 80% of all exams taken being awarded `B` grades or better. 182 of the GCSE’s awarded were ‘A’ or ‘A*’ grades.

Significantly, only 12 results (2.9%) of the 417 examinations taken were below a ‘C’ grade pass. Although this is twice as many as last year, once again ‘added value’ will be a significant feature of this year’s awards.

11 Subjects: English literature, Art, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Design and Technology, French, German, Geography, Latin, and Music achieved 100% A - C grade passes.

Several individuals had outstanding results with 6 pupils achieving ‘A’ grades or better in all of the GCSE subjects that they sat. Our 2 highest achievers were Matthew Powell and Izzy Arlott with 9 ‘A*’ grades each.

Added Value - 35% of pupils had an added value of 10 or more GCSE grades relative to CATS scores (a national benchmarking system). Over 90% of pupils achieved 9 or more A-C GCSE grades in this summers examinations.
