On Monday, as part of their topic on the Tudors, Middles visited the Mary Rose Museum. From the start to the end of the day they were amazed and enchanted by everything they saw. From the wreck itself, with films of the officers and crew at work projected onto it, to the museum where everyone loved meeting Hatch, the ship’s dog, seeing the personal possessions of the crew such as clothing, board games and combs, and finding out more about Geoffrey, one of the archers on board. Middles also took part in a classroom session where they needed to classify artefacts and decide whether they belonged to rich or poor crew members. Dressing up in Tudor clothing caused much entertainment too! Many thanks to Mrs Ulph, Mrs Renney, Mrs Samson and Mrs Ellett for their time and support on what was a most memorable and informative trip.
