Welcome to Transition (Year 3) which is the beginning of Key Stage 2. The children are split into two mixed ability classes for the first time. Most lessons are taught by the class teacher, with the exception of P.E. and music, which are taught by specialist teachers. |
Children now have their own desks and follow a more subject based curriculum. They have two PE sessions and also a long games session on Wednesday with the rest of KS2. Children learn to play the recorder and hand bells and many children begin to take up individual instrument or singing lessons.
Our topics include: The Celts, Ancient Egypt, Petersfield, Kenya, Teeth and Eating, Rocks and Soils, Light and Shadows, Materials, Plants and Magnets.
Class-based lessons are enhanced with practical activities both indoors and outdoors and also a variety of out of school visits and trips.
