Ditcham Park School - Junior
Welcome to the unique learning environment that is Ditcham Park School. Our wonderful setting on the top of Ditcham Down, with acres of playing fields, surrounded by farmland, with views across to the Isle of Wight enables every child to enjoy every day.
Welcome to Juniors, where every child is, indeed, known and valued. This ethos is upheld in all aspects of the school, engendering a mutual respect between the pupils themselves, staff and pupils and equally important – parents. Thus we have a happy school where children’s self-esteem is supported, whilst their academic, creative and physical potential is tapped and challenged to achieve their personal best.
The school setting on high ground, with its spectacular views and open aspect, is mirrored in the attitudes of the school, teaching the children social skills through an understanding of Christian values, consideration for others and care of the world exemplified in the celebration of major Christian festivals and charitable giving.
A “Welcome Back” activity in September stimulates the start of the year whilst the broad curriculum guides the children’s academic, physical and emotional development. This is complemented by a wide range of extra-curricular activities and clubs that have a broad appeal and includes the very popular House Talent Competition.

Committed and knowledgeable staff ensure that each year group approaches the broad curriculum in the most appropriate way for their age and ability, with creative activities designed to facilitate the various learning styles.
For those needing additional support in acquiring basic skills, individual sessions are available with the specially trained learning support team to assist access to all aspects of the curriculum.

The day-to-day lessons are supported with visits and visitors whilst the residential trips, from Year 3 upwards, expand their horizons both academically and socially with the activities that are organised largely reflecting aspects of the curriculum. The children are encouraged to support the wider community in fund- raising and they themselves suggest the charities to which they would like to give aid. Ditcham is a unique environment in which our children learn and grow. It would be my pleasure to welcome you on either a working day or an Open Morning.
