DofE Awards Evening:
The East Hampshire DofE Award Presentation Evening was held at school on Wednesday 19 October. Young people from all over East Hampshire who have completed Bronze, Silver and Gold DofE Awards in the past 6 months were invited to attend along with their families, and to be presented with their Certificate by our Guest of Honour Sandra Berry-Bowers.
Sandra is an ultra-marathon runner and has represented Great Britain at World, European and Commonwealth Championships. Famous for training with a pack of huskies, Sandra delighted us by bringing the huskies into the ceremony! Sandra talked about her achievements and her goals for the future. The dignitaries attending included: James Deane (Mayor of Petersfield), Charley Mills DofE (Manager for Hampshire County Council), Martin King Chairman (DofE Forum), and David Allen MBE Chairman of the East Hampshire DofE Network.
Congratulations to the following Form 5 pupils who have achieved their Bronze DofE Award: Scarlett Clough, Aaron Cooke, Alex Coyne-Cribb, Leon Poulton, Will Dentten and Natasha Noon.
DofE Trainers Course:
In the middle of October Ditcham was also proud to host the prestigious DofE Expedition Trainers Course, run by the DofE Office at Hampshire County Council. Congratulations to the new DofE leaders from all over Hampshire who successfully completed the course.
