Art and Design Technology share a wonderful Gallery Space. The Gallery provides an excellent venue for displaying GCSE and lower school work. Exhibitions are changed regularly as students complete projects. The ethos of Ditcham Park School is that each child is known and valued; to reflect this, pupils’ work is also displayed all around the school.
In the Senior School all pupils in Forms 1, 2 and 3 have a double Art lesson each week. GCSE Art students have two double lessons each week.
At GCSE level pupils can opt to take an Art, Craft and Design or Three Dimensional Sculpture course. Both courses cover a wide range of art activities including: Sculpture, Print-Making, Ceramics, Digital Photography, Sketchbook Work, Painting, Textiles, Drawing and Mixed Media Work.
In the Junior School we provide a sound foundation for pupils to explore and build skills in all the media used at GCSE level. We encourage them to realise their full artistic potential by creating an atmosphere that fosters confidence and excitement, allowing pupils to appreciate and value their own individual responses and to develop an awareness of and respect for the art of others.
Art Activities at Lunch Time
There are regular lunchtime art clubs which can be attended by all year groups.
